Apologies for the lack of updates to the blog of late. As you will appreciate, this time of year is exceedingly busy in the academic calender, with exams taking up a huge amount of time. Here at the Department for Alternative Local History at the Lews Castle Campus of the University of the Highlands and Islands (motto: we’re nearly a proper Uni!!) things are no different.
Our teaching team have been busy setting this years Degree papers and our senior academics, including the Professor, have been busy supervising our Doctoral candidates.
This year, we’ve had some very exciting Thesis submissions, including ‘A Comparative Analysis of Roman/Hebridean Exchange Rates in the Latter Stages of the Roman Empire’ and ‘The New World. Did Micmac Native Americans ‘discover’ the Isle of Lewis before the Vikings ‘discovered’ the New World?: Evidence of tepee’s found at Laxdale Holiday Park’
These papers, and more, will feature on the blog as soon as we get rid of the students for the summer.
